On May 12th 2009, principal photography was completed on “Les Nuits Rouges Du Bourreau De Jade”. Post production then began in France and is currently going on well. The film is taking shape and getting closer to completion.
On Mars 12th 2009, principal photography has begun for the first long feature motion picture produced by Red East Pictures, “Les Nuits Rouges Du Bourreau De Jade”, written and directed by Julien Carbon and Laurent Courtiaud. Filming is on the way in Hong Kong with a mixed cast from France and Hong Kong.
While preparation for “Les Nuits Rouges Du Bourreau de Jade” continues, we have been filming a short “Teaser-Prequel” to the movie, to test the Red camera and its workflow in the same conditions we will be filming the long feature.
Red East Pictures aims to achieve a good measure of independence for the creative process of film-making. We also aim to provide our partners with in house filming solutions for their Hong Kong, China and South East Asia based projects.
One of the keys to controlling the technical aspects of things is the choice we made to build a lightweight and free but professional and top grade filming unit, centered on the ground breaking RED® One camera, backed by a powerful Final Cut Studio editing station.
Our RED® One camera arrived a short while ago and we’re in the process of testing it and the whole workflow so as to use it for our coming projects. (RED® is a trademark of RED Digital Cinema)
